STEP #4 -

DO NOT design a program that will be seen as "one more thing to do"!

Develop your program so that it serves your organizations EXISTING improvement initiatives, strategic plan, or Board goals. Your intention should be to design your program so that:

• Others who are NOT involved in the program will view it as supporting, or at least complementing their own improvement initiatives.
• Participants who ARE IN your program will view it as helping them accomplish work they ALREADY MUST DO.
• No one will see mentoring as just a frill or a nice thing to do if there's money available.
